Sig Burwash is a visual artist who works primarily in drawing, painting, and sculpture. They grew up in the mountain town of kEluwi'sst–Rossland in so-called Canada. After completing a fine arts degree at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, Burwash moved to the East Coast–Mi’kma’ki. They have travelled internationally for artist residencies that include Wonder Valley Experimental Living Cabin Project at A-Z West (Wonder Valley, California), Villa Lena Foundation Residency (Pisa, Italy) and The Banff Centre (Banff, Alberta). Burwash's paintings and sculptures have been exhibited across North America and Europe. Their work is in the permanent collections of the Canadian Council for the Arts Art Bank, Nova Scotia Art Bank, Yukon Tourism and Culture, and UBCO. They now live in Unama’ki- Cape Breton Island.
